Installation won't complete

I have a fairly new Dell Inspiron laptop and purchased Windown 8 to install on it. It goes fine through the installation process and reboots like is says it will, but it stops doing anything once it reboots. All I get is a black screen. It has sat overnight and still nothing. I've tried 4 different times and the same thing happens every time. I am able to get it uninstalled and Windows 7 back, but what am I doing wrong?

I've run that several times and it doesn't kick back any reason that it wouldn't install properly.

I tried installing W8 on two computers and I never succeeded. On the second computer, I got the problem you describe. I don' know the reason for that.

Try uninstalling any security software ( if you have installed), even if it's MSE, any USB peripherals and see whether it helps.
