Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out with this one.
I upgraded to 8 from 7 yesterday, and the transition left a lot of useless old files. I deleted much of this, but was barred from deleting much of this because of lacking permission. I researched my problem but none of the solutions I found were helping. Seeing as the only important programs that are on my computer are already backed up media and docs, I decided the 'remove everything and reinstall windows" would be my best option. Upon doing this Im met with the message "some files are missing. your windows installation or recovery media will provide these files'. I got the download digitally but now when i run the windows 8 upgrade assistant Im told that 'windows 8 is not available in my country/region"
I live in Virginia.....
If anyone has any ideas how I can get Windows 8 to do a reinstall and to get my pc to a clean slate Id love you forever. this is maddening!

You're getting the message 'windows 8 is not available in my country/region' because you don't have a qualifying previous version of Windows installed anymore.

If you saved the download of Win8 as an ISO you can burn that to a DVD or USB stick and re-install.
If you didn't, the download Win8 again, as theog mentioned above. Save it as an ISO so you will have it to re-install with.

You could also burn install.esd which is inside Sources( C;/--> ESD--> windows--> Sources--> Install.esd), burn this to a DVD and you can do a clean install. To view the ESD, you have to tick Hidden Files in explorer.
EDIT: After burning your DVD, you can go to Settings, Change PC settings, General and select Remove everything and reinstall windows. It may ask for your DVD to be inserted or may not ask at all because all the files it needed are all in ESD.
