Hi all, new to the forum and hope someone can help! I had a quick search for Windows 8 yesterday and was shocked to see it was only £24.99 for an upgrade so I downloaded it, it installed and all went well. Then after about 2 to 3 minutes of starting to use it and playing around with the new design my screen went blank, came back on for a second and then went blank. I done a hard reset but it would go blank after the window logo. So reset again and then it wouldn't boot at all, got the sad face and it spent an hour trying to fix it but to no job. I tried booting in safe mode but it wouldn't have it. I installed Windows 7 Home 64 bit again, what I had before, I tried another Windows 8 install but the same thing! I tried using my TV with HMDI cable as an external monitor and you can a black screen just with the cursor, can't right click or anything. Someone on another forum advise to press Windows Key + P as this worked for him as his graphics card thought he had two screens and was using the wrong one.
I've gone back to Windows 7 but would like to make use of the £24.99 spent on Windows 8! Any one has any idea's?
I'm using a HP Pavilion dv6, 4GB RAM, Intel Core i5 2.53ghz and a Radeon ATI graphics card, which supports Direct X 11.
