Solved Interrupted installation.

My own fault, I got cold feet during installation because I had not realised that the downloaded version would go straight to install and I was afraid it would immediately overwrite my stable and established Win 7 64bit.

What I wanted to do was to save the downloaded Windows 8 installation file and then run it on a spare disk so that I could then dual boot.

I stopped the installation after the Win 8 file had downloaded and had started installation (Checking files stage).

My problem:

Although I now have a product code for a copy of Win 8, I don't know how to get a copy of the ISO which I had hoped to receive.

If I cannot get an ISO, will the downloaded version give me a choice as to where I install it? However, I cannot even see how to restart my interrupted installation if that is what I have to do.
:(

What a mess! Help Please

You should have an upgrade file on your desktop, click on that, it asks some questions and one of them is do you want to install later say yes, then another question do you want to create an ISO file just say yes, when it has created the ISO file, right click on it to burn it to a DVD.
Then boot from that to completely wipe your disk and reformat, make sure you have your key for when you start the installation. If you have a Windows Live account use that. Make sure you feel comfortable doing this and have anything you need backed up, this worked for me, I hope it works for you.

I don't have an upgrade file on my desktop!

All I have is the "Download Windows" icon of the upgrade assistant.

That then seemed to start at the pre-purchase stage. However it has now started downloading Win 8 again.

THanks for the help.
