Not able to get the Boot order after installing Win 8

    Dear All,

I have 2 Queries regarding the Installation of Win 8

    Query 1:
I had installed the following OS in the following order

    Win 7 - 32 bit
    Win 7 - 64 bit
    Win 8 - 32 bit followed by
    Win 8 - 64 bit.

Now i am not able to get the boot options as i have to switch to other OS. In present scenario i directly boot into Win 8 - 64 bit.

Can anybody please help me to get the boot options.

    Query 2:

Can anybody guide me how to know the different OS installed in my PC when i am booted in Windows 8.

that is, i want to check in Win 8 developer preview if other operating system is being present or not(I think i have deleted all the Win 7 OS which were installed by me...:-(...)

    Please Help me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ankita22,

    Welcome to EightForums !

To list all visible Windows OS installed on your computer you can use "Dual-boot Repair" tool that comes with Visual BCD.

Install. Start Dual-boot Repair. Click on "Automatic Repair" BUT DO NOT CONFIRM (do not click OK button).
Post screenshot so we can see what Windows OS are visible.

A screenshot of Disk Management would be useful too.

Contents of BCD is also useful in diagnosing - open admin command prompt and type:
    bcdedit >bcdedit.txt<enter>
    Attach file bcdedit.txt.

Hello Ankita, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    Query 1:

Double check using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to make sure that you have enough time set to view the startup options list of OSs at boot. If set to zero, then you will not see them.

Startup Options - Change Time to Wait before Default OS Runs

    Query 2:

The startup options screen from above is one way to see what OSs you have installed on your computer. Another way, is to open msconfig and click on the "Boot" tab.

    Hope this helps,
