If you can't get CCC to work, and only need it for the fan control. You could try MSI Afterburner, and just use the fan control function.

If afterburner doesn't work, try an older version of ATI driver, seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Which version are you trying to install?

that's the one i 'm using dated 6/15/11 and for some reason it just don't want to lood the program.
the drivers seem to be working just not the (Catalyst Control Center program) . tryed uninstalling and then reinstalling but
no joy. anyway the MSI Afterburner works fine and lets me change the fan speed so all's well now.

    thanks for everyones help

In case you still want a control center, I found that the "AMD VISION Engine Control Center 11.8" works great. I was running into the same problem not getting CCC to install with my 5770, I wanted to get rid of those annoying black borders from the underscaling. It only requires an update of netframeworks from windows update to run once it installs.
The Scaling options are under "My Digital Flat Panel", and the fan speed is under "Performance". Good luck!
