Hello. My computer has problems of which I assume are related to the graphics card. First off, I have been getting around the problem by not updating my graphics driver or operating system. If I update the graphics driver then I get a looping boot that eventually leads to a BSOD telling me my computer has had a problem starting and gives me options of recovery (none of which work). I download my graphics driver from either the website of the graphics driver manufacturer or of my computer manufacturer. I even tried downloading the Driver Uninstaller from Guru3D to remove traces of the graphics drivers in order to freshly install the graphics drivers but that didn't work either. If I update the operating system to either Windows 8.1 or 10 then things seem fine until my screen starts showing flickering green artifacts. Leaving my system the way it is now isn't working for me because my computer now runs very slow and anything with even the smallest usage of the graphics card takes up large amounts of the CPU. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
I would look at the graphics hardware itself. Without drivers installed for it, the computer is using very little if any of its capabilities which is why it doesn't crash it. Once you install the drivers it goes into full effect which will cause issues if there is something wrong with the card itself.
Ok that makes sense. I am using a laptop so how would I get around that? I don't think I could swap out a graphics card because it is connected directly to the motherboard. Is there like an alternative that could get it working even a little without necessarily sending it out for repairs?
