i have Asus X450JF with windows 8.1 pro 64bit. everytime i turn on the laptop, and i plug the HDMI cable, there is no sound on my TV even in the playback devices. i unplug and replug the cable then the sound appeared on my TV. i already tried many drivers (from intel and the asus manufactured drivers) but i still to plug twice the cable to get the sound on my TV.
is this a bug or there is something wrong with the HDMI?

No other HDMI device (monitor/TV) to test? Tried a different cable? It could be the TV not detecting it until it gets the hand shake by plugging the cable in.

Sorry so long to reply. About all I have is to contact Asus, it may be a quirk with that model or maybe it is a defect. Sometimes I have to go into Playback Devices and set it as default, doesn't always switch automatically.
