I want NVDIA Graphics card but not sure how to get it...

Hello i bought my laptop 4 going on 5 years ago.Long story short intel graphics are not that good. I would like NVDIA graphics but not sure it i should take it to a Tech to have it done or if i am able to install them. Please help

That depends on if laptop has interchangeable graphic card or not. Most of them have GPU integrated as a part of MB and/or CPU.

No, not likely, Laptops are not like desktops with easily interchangeable components. The graphics processor is usually built right into the motherboard. You can't just unplug it and replace it with another one. Even those with a separate daughter board require a special card from the manufacturer to fit it. The only way you could get NVidia graphics on your laptop is if it was an optional extra offered by the manufacturer for your specific make and model.

There were some high end laptops a few years back that had mini graphics cards that could be replaced/updated. They were very few and far between. Most likely your laptop is stuck with what it has.

Yep 4 to 5 years sounds like your due for a new one Asus uses NVidia Graphics cards in some of there notebooks

In my case i have a G580 with Geforce 610M
The change i can do with it's graphics card is replacing the 1GB vRAM version 610M to 2 GB VRAM which wpn't make big change
In laptops you ate stuck with what you have bought

For most people, yes they are stuck with what they bought. Hard drive, RAM and maybe the WIFI module are about all you can usually change. Easily anyway. A CPU swap may be doable but not easy. Most times swapping the GPU is not an option. And even when you can, like in your case, your options are very limited.

Kind of the whole point. Yes, minor changes are doable but nothing that is going to transform a laptop from one level to the next. There are decent gaming laptops for two to three thousand dollars. Asus has some in the $12-15 hundred dollar range, no idea if they are any good.

My laptop is 3 years old now. It can play some newer games at low to mid settings but I wouldn't consider it a gaming laptop.

I like adventure games, not so much into the shooters and higher demanding graphics games. My laptop with the Nvidia 730m is still serving me well.

I can play Alan Wake and Amnesia at fairly high settings. That is pretty much my benchmark, I know I'm way behind the times.

Pretty sure I can play it, just not into the action/adventure either. I just mentioned AW and Amnesia because of the graphics requirements, but never finished either one. Games like Syberia and Longest Journey are my favorites, finished both. My expectations are low when it comes to the greatest graphics, I like the story more than action.

To tell you frankly, I think super fine and high res graphics are a bit overrated in action games. There's just no time to even notice all of that. In the shooter specially, if you stop to smell the roses, you get your a** shot off in a hurry. A flight sim on the other hand could use as high res as possible and so do RPGs.

To each his own on graphics thoughts, i do concentrate on what i am doing, but nice have better picture of what i am doing.
