Hi!

I am planning on purchasing this baby right here.
Beautiful isn't it?

Can't wait to select turn v-sync off on all games and enjoy that smooth smooth screen. BUT, i'm in a dilemma!

I can't decide between 1080p and 1440p. People say 1440p looks better, but is it really worth the sacrifice in FPS? It's a little bit of less aliasing from what i can see, and it costs nearly 20 fps. And from what i can remember, i can downsample 1440p into 1080p to have it look kind of like that, but i'm not sure how the quality differs.

Any opinions that might help me make a decision?

Thanks in advance
Alex.

I should have gone 1440 when I bought my last monitor. I didn't and regret it now. A 780Ti will eat through 1440p easily, go for it.

It just gives you more real esate on your monitor which is really what I needed. Check one out in store or something before you decide if you're that unsure.

For games and such, the difference won't be much.

For the OS, everything will be smaller so you can get more on the screen at any given time. I run a 27" monitor at work at 2560x1440 and I love it. Others feel everything is too small.

Once you get used to higher resolutions, you hate it when you are stuck with lower resolutions. I nearly lose it when I get on a laptop that runs something like 1280x800. That's the primary reason why I don't have my macbook pro with retina setup to use the best quality because it's basically 1280x800 and everything is way too big on the screen. So, I run scaled at 1680x1050. I've forced it to run 2560x1600, but that is too small for me to use on the 13" screen.
