4k monitor reverting to 30hz from 60hz Displayport problem

Often when I initially turn my computer on I get the message from the latest AMD driver:
"The System has detected a problem with the connection between your computer and the DisplayPort display that will prevent you from using the highest resolutions and/or refresh rates." and my 4k monitor would be in 30 hz not 60hz. To fix this problem I either reset my computer or reset the monitor and most of the time it will then go to 60hz. I have already tried a new displayport cable, fresh installed the video drivers and face the same problem. Can anyone help please?

Hey, I had the same problem and I just solved mine, so hopefully it will help yours too.

All I did was unplugged the power cable for 5-10 seconds. After I did that Windows prompted me that "You must restart your computer for these changes to take effect."

Once I restarted everything was fixed. Hope it helps! Good luck to you!

Sorry I should have clarified, yes to the monitor. (Otherwise how would Windows know that something changed and needed to restart? :p)
