Sapphire TRIXX Crashes Windows 8.1

I finally upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro x64 from Windows 8. The latest version (4.8.6) of Sapphire TRIXX (overclocking & fan control utility) caused my system to hang as soon as the Settings option was selected. I found installing the earlier version of TRIXX (v4.8.2) solved the problem. I have a Sapphire R9 280X graphics card and I'm using the latest AMD drivers (v14.9). I don't know if the problem just affects my particular hardware/software combination or is more widespread. However, it seems Sapphire's software testing is not robust.

Update - I've been having system instability problems with TRIXX v4.8.2 also. I've disabled TRIXX for the time being and all is fine.

Ive been having the same problem with Trixx, sucks cause i prefer it to AMD overdrive, but I guess I'm stuck with that for now.

My system is currently stable with the previous version of TRIXX (4.8.2) and the current AMD driver version. Does anyone know how to run TRIXX from a user account without needing to enter the admin password?

I took your advice and ya, windows 8.1 64 bit seems to work fine with 4.8.2 Trixx, no more crashes! Thanks + REP
