Windows Media Center problem on GTX 285

Yesterday i installed Win8 CP for the first time and at start everything was working great. I played Star Wars: The Old Republic for couple of hours without crashing or any other problems. After that i watched a 720p movie with Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, worked like a charm. The problems started when i wanted to watch TV via Windows Media Center. The sound is crackling and pretty soon (minute or so) the sound is 15 seconds earlier than the video and after a while (2 minutes - 15 minutes) it crashes saying that the video drivers are not installed or not working properly. Now, what i did... First i installed all of my drivers including new Nvidia win8 drivers + Nvidia driver update, then i uninstalled the update, it was the same, then i uninstalled Nvidia drivers, still the same... after that i uninstalled all of my drivers and let windows install them by itself and they did all except TV Card driver which i installed manually. Now WMC seems to be working a bit longer but it's still not good, there's still that crackling sound and the video is skipping every few (it looks like the video is "chasing" the sound). Please help if you can!

I run Windows 8 CP on:

Intel Dual Core @ 2,55 Ghz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 285
4BG of RAM
Gigabyte G31M-ES2L motherboard
Gigabyte P-8000 TV Card

Hi there.

1) Go to the correct revision of your motherboard. Download/install the latest bios -

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-G31M-ES2L (rev. 2.3)

2) Reboot.

3) In the device manager, uninstall your Realtek audio driver, while checking the box to delete the driver too.

Immediately install this when done:

Realtek

(If the link does not work, click HD Audio link on the right instead.)

Reboot after.

4) Install the TV driver again either manually or regular, but with compatibility mode for Windows 7.

Hi, thanks for your help! I got stuck at the first step... I downloaded newest bios for the correct revision, and when i ran FLASHPI.exe file i got this message

and if i run autoexec file i get this one

I then tried to flash bios via QFlash option on boot screen with the files on USB drive which QFlash don't recognize, it only recognizes floppy which i don't even have As for the audio drivers, i was allready using those and for the Atheros drivers when i extract them i get .cat .inf and .sys files which i don't know how to install.

You can install the Atheros by using the device manager.

Right click on it. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

Now find and click the .inf and it will install.

As for the Windows based flash utility, you can try running it with compatibility mode for Windows 7 or Windows Vista. It slightly risky though - just saying so you are aware - although I don't believe there will be any issues if it does actually run.
