The only Windows 8 driver for AMD is the 8.93.7 RC 10 which is also offered through Windows Update.

My problem is that with the TBS6981 card and HD channels, only the 10.2 version of CCC works without horrible pixelation and artefacts.

Having tested 12.2 on Win7 and it not fixing this particular problem, it's unlikely that CCC and Windows 8 are any good for me right now.

If I go down the Windows 8 route, I'll most likely need an intel based solution.

What non-ATI video cards are available?

the problem isn't amd its windows 8 bugged drivers works fine in windows 7 and xp

You can go nVIDA or a intel HD integrated graphics which would mean you would need a new mobo and cpu if your using a amd mobo at the moment but just getting a nVDIA card would be fine with a amd mobo.
