Hi all since I updated my laptop (Acer aspire 7720G) to win 8.1 from win vista home, both 32 bit.

Can't find a driver for Graphic's card that works with win 8.1 stuck with rubbish base type driver and even on smallest setting everything big lol

I assume there is know driver I been looking so long..... but has anyone found a work around or any thing

ID thing in properties ..... ACPI\ENE0100\3&21436425&0

Oh man that's so strange sometimes...I have the exact model at home except mine is now all in pieces where I was learning about laptops and such 0_o...

I found this help topic on the acer forums that I thought may be of use to you:

can i install windows 8 on an aspire 7720 - Acer Community

It appears that particular model of ours is NOT support for Windows 8 ( and it isn't surprising considering the amount of RAM it had... ) but it is what it is. My best suggestion is to try the different video drivers for Windows Vista/7 for x86/x64 and see if any of them work fairly good for you.

Yeah I know it may be an issue if your battery doesn't last that long but try to get it downloaded at least one at a time and start testing. :)

Was my first laptop but the graphic card died: Nvidia 8400M GS (256MB)

You might search for that particular one, that's what worked in my case, depends on the model (different specs possible: see user manual for other gfx cards if needed).

ACPI\ENE0100\3&21436425&0 leads to the Ene Cir Reciever: that's infrared receiver for the small remote control...

Good luck.

That's another option indeed.

Check this one:

Not exactly the one mentioned... you can also get the general installer for notebook you see in lower right corner on the site there.
They don't mention the X-series anywhere so let's hope it's still supported.

Good luck again.

I had Intel/AMD combo laptop for several years. Only updated drivers I could get to work were modified ones from leshcatlabs.net.

Do you have Nvidia or AMD discrete graphics?

Your pdf link doesn't work.

Did you install the chipset drivers after installing W8?

Acer has a tool right on the driver page to help identify what hardware you have,

It's definitely the AMD, but I think you need the chipset drivers because it isn't being completely recognized yet.

The only chipset drivers available are for XP or Vista so you just have to go with what's available.
