Solved Low resolution on external TV/Monitor (ASUS T100 Win 8.1)

I'm trying to use an external Samsung TV/monitor (model LN-T2642H) through HDMI. The native resolution of the monitor/TV is 1360X768, which is also the native resolution of ASUS T100.
If I try to use the monitor/TV as the only display, the device selected is Generic PnP Monitor and the native resolution of 1360X768 is not available for selection. Intel HD Graphics Control Panel only shows 1280X720 (selected) and 1920X1080 (too high for my monitor).

Is there a way to set up the 1360X768 resolution with the existing driver (up to date)? Is there another driver that I can download and that will allow this resolution? Can I use a different version of the Generic PnP Monitor that allows 1360X768 resolution?
With the only resolution available i.e., 1280X720 the quality is bad.

On the screen resolution window, click advanced settings. Then click "list all modes" under the adapter tab. Now see if what you want is listed.

Thanks. This was indeed one of the first things I did. 1360X768 is not shown. Just a bunch of low resolutions, 1280X720 (selected) and 1920X1080 (too high for my monitor).

I'd look at updating the video drivers. Going right to the Intel site may get you the newest. If you have issues with the Intel driver then try going to the ASUS site. The only other option is finding a driver for the display/TV. I call it a driver but its more than likely just going to be an inf file that will tell Windows what it is and what resolutions it supports. They can be hard to find as not all manufacturers take the time to produce one. I have one for my 22 inch LG 1080p display but can't find one for my 19 inch I-INC LCD's.

Problem solved/brute force solution
Instead of micro HDMI to HDMI cable I used a micro HDMI to VGA cable (with audio). In the VGA/PC mode (unlike the HDMI mode) 1360X768 resolution is allowed/available for selection. Display quality is good. I'm going to have a drink!

That must be a converter, last time I checked HDMI didn't have an analog signal to feed VGA? In any case you got it working and that's what counts. :thumb:
