Diver for “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470” for windows 8.1 X64,

I couldn’t find the driver “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470” for windows 8.1 X64. My laptop is “Sony Vaio VPCE C3S0E”

I tried the link below but unfortunately the AMD says that the available drivers are NOT compatible with SONY VAIO
Download Drivers

Where this driver might be found?

Thank you

Best

Jamal

You have to install latest driver from SONY or edit the .inf for the latest AMD download so it installs using Device Manager, and also permanently disable driver enforcement.

Hi, what is your current display driver version (on the picture)? You can try to install this driver Microsoft Update Catalog first install the add-on and then search for `radeon hd 5000 13.251` and download the third one. Then install it using Device manager. After that download the AMD package Desktop and install the Catalyst Control Centre. Let me know if you have any questions.

As werty impled, the fact that you have the driver recognized in your device manager indicates you have a driver that "appears to be compatible" with Windows 8.1 x64. Moreover, since win 8.1 has such a great catalog of drivers, I'm going to guess you may have obtained that driver via Windoew Update (or even during the initial install for that matter). So, you never stated "why" you were looking for a new driver. Is it because the existing one is not working or do you just want to try and update to the latest available driver? Please tell us (specifically) why you need/want to update that driver?

Thank you very much guys for the help.

Sorry but it didn’t work with me. The screenshot below shows that my current display is 5000 but not 5470. It should be 5470 to get it correctly configured.

What might be the issue here?

Can you please explain what the original image was for and why you posted that instead of the one you are posting now? It did show the 5470 driver correctly installed. So, did you try and download a driver update and that somehow changed your driver to show the newest view? If so, could you try rolling back your driver to the previous version? Sorry, but there seems to be a few missing pieces that you need to fill in. Also, you still haven't explained why you tried to do "whatever didn't work for you."

Sorry for the confusion.

My display card is used to be “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470” before windows 8.1 X64. Now, as Windows 8.1 is the current operating system, my display card is “ADM Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series”

What I’m looking for at the moment is to have the correct driver for my display card such that it appears “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470” in windows 8.1

For me, I couldn’t find the correct driver for “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470” for windows 8.1

There is nothing wrong - your card is part of the Radeon 5000 series. Just install the Catalyst software and everything should be fine. If you have a certain problem please let us know!

You're welcome.

Just some information for anyone reading that may not know: It is impossible to install a driver that is not meant for the hardware, since the .inf file must contain that hardware id from the maker and for the device itself. So, unless you personally edited the .inf or downloaded something edited from some 3rd party source other than the maker, you can never have a driver that wasn't intended for what you have.
