Solved No signal to monitor after installing new graphics card.

I have a HP Pavillion Model No. p7-1423w I replaced the stock power supply with a 600B 600W Bronze Power Supply.

And installed a EVGA Geforce GTX 660 and have it powered by the new power supply.
When I connect the new graphics card Via DVI-D And I got no signal.

I rebooted into the BIOS to try to disable the on board graphics but I saw no option to do so.

Any help would be appreciated Im nervous about this $320 investment if it doesn't work. Any ideas on what could help?

Did you plug in the 6/8 pin power connectors to the card itself?

Did you install the driver for the nvidia GPU? Do you have the DVI cables plugged into GPU DVI ports?

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

While there may not be an option to disable the onboard, there likely is an option to set which one gets initialized first. Look for a IGP,PCIe,PCI option and set it to PCIe or set so PCIe is first.

Its a 6 pin and yes I did

No i havent installed the drivers, I thought i needed to do that after the card is already in my PC? and yes the DVI cables are plugged into the GPU

I did figure out how to disable the onboard, however it did not solve the problem, And there is no option for that in the bios at all :[

Once you you've turned off the PC, unplugged the power cord, taken side panel off, install GPU into PCIe x16 slot - should be the first PCIe slot closet to CPU, then plug in power cord, turn on PC, after completely booted up, then immediately download the GPU software/driver.

I get to signal to monitor when I have the GPU in.. All the plugs are in correctly and everything I think it has something to do with Windows 8.. :/

Have you installed the software/driver package yet....?????????????

With out that package your GPU will never work.

Found out my problem, I appreciate everyone taking the time, for anyone in the future that has this problem here is the solution

When installing an after-market graphics card into a certified Windows 8 PC with UEFI enabled, the system may not boot.

Damned UEFI and secure boot....but I'm glad you got it fixed. Nice find with the link.
