Secure Boot issue after 8.1 UEFI installation

Hey guys,

I've installed Windows 8.1 on UEFI mode on my new Samsung 840 Pro.

Everything works REALLY fast which is great, the UEFI boot process is significantly faster than the old BIOS

Problem is, after enabling secure boot in the BIOS, I am getting an error message saying
"System BIOS detected a non-Windows 8 Logo graphic card. There is no GOP (Graphics Output Protocol) support detected in this card. 'Windows 8 feature' settings in BIOS will be changed to 'Disabled'."

I am not very savvy about Secure Boot, but from what I understand I need to get a special UEFI bios for the graphics card in order to get this to work?

My board is an MSI Z77A-GD65 and the GPU is an EVGA GTX680 Superclocked.

P.S. When loading Windows with UEFI enabled I should see the manufacturer's (MSI) logo instead of the Windows logo right? I'm not seeing it but I have definitely installed 8.1 in UEFI mode and my BIOS mode is set to UEFI only so it's definitely working, I assume that it's related to the "Non Windows 8 logo graphics card" error?

Curious what happens if you disable Secure Boot? As long as you keep your system clean, check for virus/malware it shouldn't be a problem.

EVGATech_MattM says he will send you the BIOS if you email him.

With Secure Boot disabled everything loads fine, windows boots without any issues. But I don't have the MSI logo when Win 8.1 boots, Instead I see the regular Windows logo...

I will Email the guy from EVGA to get the BIOS.

Thanks again, just to clarify, seeing the MSI logo instead of the regular Microsoft Windows logo in UEFI mode is directly related to the UEFI BIOS of the GPU, correct?

Yea, once you get to that point in boot it is your graphics card bios taking over, so it is most likely the video UEFI bios that is not giving you the logo.

Why is the logo such a big deal by itself? Does your graphics work properly? Is the GOP being diasbled causing problems?

It's not a bit issue at all and everything works fine, I was just wondering if I have installed Windows UEFI correctly because I read a thread in which a guy says that the way to identify if you're in UEFI mode is when the Microsoft Windows logo is changed to the board manufacturer's logo.

Going by your error, you definitely are in UEFI mode or else you wouldn't be getting the error. Plus you say it boots quickly. If you have BIOS set to UEFI and there was a serious issue, then it wouldn't boot at all and you'd get a critical warning/error. It is just your graphics card is not being recognized as supporting 8 UEFI, so maybe not quite as fast boot, I honestly don't know the answer to that for sure.

Guess the only way to find out is after EVGA will provide me with the UEFI bios for my card I am definitely in UEFI as I have installed Windows after selecting UEFI USB Drive: Sandisk Cruzer as my main boot and my current boot is set to UEFI only.
