Looking for some video drivers

I installed Win 8.1 Pro on a Win 7 machine and only have a couple of yellow exclamation marks next to Display and Video Controller. Display shows "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", so I guess there's no Win 8 driver. Where's a good place to find the correct Win 7 ATI drivers if I use the ven and dev numbers. Tried using Google but just seem to get phony sites trying to sell you some driver update software. Thanks.

Video Controller

PCI \ VEN_1002 & DEV_5B70 & SUBSYS_00821043 & REV_00

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

PCI \ VEN_1002 & DEV_5B60 & SUBSYS_00821043 & REV_00

That narrows it down to "ATI RADEON X300/X550/X1050 Series". I guess the "SUBSYS_00821043 & REV_0" identifies the actual card. There's nothing on the card itself to tell me which model number. Useful site though.

You don't need anymore than what you have found to find the right driver. If you want to know the specific card, try downloading GPU-Z and see if it can read that information straight out of the GPU BIOS:

Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.7.4 | techPowerUp

I hope this completes your quest for a solution and, BTW, all 3 of those cards are dinosaurs and were quite popular cica 2004-2005.

Need help finding the correct video controller

I upgraded a Win7 machine to Win 8.1 and everything is working really well except I need the correct video controller. The ven and dev numbers have given me the list below. Is there some way in Win 8.1 or some other program that'll give me the correct part? Thanks. PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B70&SUBSYS_00821043&REV_00 Driver Download

As far as I can tell, there are no Win8 native drivers for that old an ATI chipset. You're stuck with the default video driver that is already installed.

If this card isn't going to work, could you recommend a PCIe X16 that's Win8 compatible?

If you can give us your specs or at least your motherboard make/model, I'm sure we can help you. Or, you can simply download speccy and post the report as well:

Unfortunately, you didn't provide the information I was hoping for so just wait for a recommendation based on your last request. Its time for a new card anyyway IMHO. Good luck.

The exact card is an Asus ATI Radeon AX300SE-X/TD/128/A X16. It ran Windows 7 64-bit just fine. If I could just find that driver again, I'm sure it would work.

For older video card drivers or AMD/ATI look up for drivers wit "legacy" in the name.
