Solved Only ONE resolution setting, and it's WRONG!

I just set up a new desktop, an hp pavilion p6-2378, with AMD A8-5600K APU processor, and RADEON HD 3.6GHz graphics. I have it hooked up to one of those older HP flatscreen monitors (pavilion 1503) that are fully height adjustable and tiltable. I *love* this monitor for what I use it for. However, HP does not provide a Win8 driver for it, and when I go to display settings in the control panel I'm given only ONE resolution option (1024 x 768 "Recommended"), which cuts off a large portion of the bottom of the screen! The option to click and change the resolution is greyed out. The device driver is listed as "Generic PnP Monitor." Is there any "generic" monitor driver for Windows that will let me change the resolution to show the whole screen??? Or give me other options besides 1024 x 768??

OK, I solved my own problem, if anyone has a similar issue and can't work it out in the Windows 8 display settings. I used the menu buttons that are built into the monitor to reset it to factory settings. It looks like maybe Windows 8 overrode the original settings for some reason, but it's working OK now... Hopefully it will stay that way.....
