Hi guys.
My problem is that I can't change resolution on my laptop's display with win 8. It's quite an old, Toshiba Satellite M70. I installed win 8 directly from XP. Everything is working fine except this. I tried to install the old drivers in compatibility mode, but says the system requierement is not enough. Do I have any chance to make it work?

What resolution are you stuck at ?

~about your specs and Windows 8 support~

Intel® Centrino® M740
Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG
Intel® 915GM Express chipset
60 GB
512 MB

Satellite M70-122 - Toshiba

Intel will not be providing any Windows 8 graphics drivers for the 915GM chipset. Do to the age of the 915GM chipset and the certification requirements for Windows 8 drivers it is not possible. The only support for the 915GM chipset will be the Windows 8 "Inbox" drivers provided with the installation media.

INTEL 915GM WINDOWS 8 DRIVERS EVER??

The same applies to chipset 945G/GM. The specs below are from one of my rigs. Only inbox drivers work.

E6300 @ 1.86 GHz
GA-945GM-S2
4 GB PC 5400 Kingston
VGA Intel 82945GS (256 MB Shared)
HDD:
1 x 250GB
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (SP1)
Windows 8 Pro x64

It says Generic Microsoft videocard. I'm stuck at 1024x768.

So is there any chance to change it? If driver development has stopped, I can't do anything?

Sorry, but I used to use an old laptop that had the Intel 915GM chipset and when I installed Win8, I discovered that only the MS generic basic driver would work. The Intel 915GM video driver used something know as XPDM -- which was enabled in Win7, but removed from Win8. I tried a lot, and there's simply no way to get the 915GM driver working in Win8.
