I want to change my resolution to my native screen resolution (1680x1050 60hz) but I don't have that option. instead I have to choose from 800x600, 1024x728, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, and 1920x1440 (at 64hz). How do I change it to my native screen resolution if I don't have the options there?

I tried installing the monitor drivers but it keeps telling me "windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." My monitor is a Dell E228WFP.

Hello there!

Are you using Virtual Machine or is it installed locally? What is your computer configuration i.e. your display adapter etc.?

It's installed locally. And I'm using a VGA cable if that's what you mean display adapter.

That's odd... Shouldn't Windows 8 come with native display drivers in Windows Update? Well mine did, at least...
@Original poster, try doing a Windows Update and see if some basic native drivers for your card manufacturer are available.
