Hello Jaca,

The screen resolution needs to be set to a minimum of 1024 x 768 for Store (Metro) apps to work.

Hope this helps, :)

If I change to a higher resolution monitor, apps work. Perhaps should update the driver.
Itens "Accessories" open fine in any monitor. New apps (like Firefox) work fine too

Jaca,

I'm happy to hear you got it sorted by using another monitor that has a higher resolution.

The problem was that even as 1280 (W) x 720 (H), you were still not meeting the minimum screen resolution for Store apps. While the width is more then 1024, the height must also be at least 768. It was only 720 instead.

Hello Xenicide, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since you say "more or less about the same problem", please go ahead and give as much detail about the issue you are having and what's not working for you in case it may not be the same issue. :)

My screen resolution is 1920x1080 but when trying to open an app it says screen resolution is to low.
I find this though that says "
You can run Metro style apps on a screen as big as 30” with a resolution of 2560x1600"
Iam running on a 32" Samsung LCD TV but iam not seeing how that could be a problem. There might be some other issues since i have problems trying to update but i figured that is because of some issue with windows and not my software.

What is the minimum and maximum screen resolution for Windows 8? | WinBeta

It just getting worse and worse. I followed you first advice and an error come up that i didn't sign up using a Microsoft so i figured if that could help.
Its annoying enough that almost all help say you should swipe the sidebar when i doesn't have one, but now it seems my windows start screen is gone altogether.

It might be best to do a refresh or a clean install, and if doesn't do it i guess nothing will.

So after doing a recovery charms, start and store seems all to be working.
