After the Windows 8 Update, I get the following message when I log in;

dwm.exe - Entry Point Not Found

[red circle with white x in it]

The procedure entry point CheckDesktopByThreadId could not be
located in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\system32\dwm.exe.

A few days before update I installed Office 2013 Preview.
I use Windows8 since the consumer preview without problems on my Lenovo S10-3 with the following specs;
Intel Atom dual core processor @ ~1,7GHz
1GB RAM
Much more isn't in it XD.

I had also made some small changes in the Registry to change the max resolution, but I did that in June and I didn't had any problems with my laptop until now.

Hi jovco111. Welcome to EightForums. :)

What edition are you using?

I can understand, but not a good thing to tamper with the registry, especially since 8 is resolution specific. Try changing it back?

A refresh is a suggestion. Search Brink's tutorials on that. I'm on my phone and can't link.

Good luck. Please report what you find. Thanks.

I have refreshed my PC, but that didn't work. I am using the 32bit edition, build 8400. This hapenned after the October update. When I did system restore, he said that chrome.exe was failed. I'm going to try again now.

Not familiar with the build numbers, but I should learn them! Must be the Release Preview?

A lot of members were having problems with Chrome, but not so much in RTM. I'm not a user of that myself. Hopefully someone will answer to this, for this is unfamiliar territory to me.
