Stardock might be able to restore aero fully, but for now we have a registry hack.

Registry Hack
You can change the registry files and make a "glitch aero".
~Photo Soon!~

Thanks Friends!
Add what you like, and your predictions on a future 3rd party aero and if Microsoft will add it back!

Glitch aero has been known for quite some time. It does not look good, though, which kind of defeats the entire purpose.

Yes, Phailyoor. Glitch Aero isn't worth it, but Stardock will have to provide a way to use aero.

Stardock picks up where Microsoft leaves holes.

They've been doing it since XP so why would 8 be any different? Stardock was a Microsoft Gold Partner at one time, not sure if they still are, it seems MS always left any desktop theming to Stardock.

My former coworker at Ford went to Stardock back in 2007, but they were acquired by another company not too log ago and now he works for GameStop, in Texas (high level executive). I used to get free software from him when he was at Stardock and I'll miss that!!
