Winkey behavior on multiple monitors

AFAIK the Metro Start will stick to the last display that something metro was used. The problem is, I particularly hate it because I expect something to happen where my mouse is focused, even the WiFi panel appear on the screen that doesn't even have a taskbar.

Question is, can I change this?

Without 3rd party software, no. However, you can move the Start screen using Windows key + PgUp or PgDn to move it left or right (monitor-wise).

The focus is also affected by the screen identified as the primary

Sorry to hear that, these little details kill the experience. You said without third-party... and with?

I guess it depends on what you want to do - what is the specific scenario? The start screen and the apps that run with it run on one monitor currently, and you can't split the two.

I just want my Metro popping up on the monitor I have mouse focus.

If you switch to the start screen on the desktop monitor it cancels the app on the 2nd monitor.
It's a bit awkward - almost any activity cancels the app on the second monitor.
