Aero has disappeared in the newest RTM edition. Release Preview still supports it, but not any sign of a return.

I like it. It's more cleaner, especially in gray.

The grey, I think may be like 98 a little much. But without aero my PC with 2 gigs of RAM runs completely faster. And i like the blue.

If you didn't want transparency on a low power machine , you could have just turned it off.

My pc with with 2gb ram runs very fast with 7 x64 and Vista x64 - with all the effects.

Yes, I never had any speed problems. Only 8 made it even faster.

And sometimes when you shut off the aero features, windows 7 would actually slow down. This was because your video card wasn't being used anymore and your CPU was doing the 2d work.

I like the cleaner look of RTM and could care less if the non active windows are grey. I also like that the active Window and task bar changes color automatically to match your cycled wallpaper backgrounds.

Nobody is ever going to agree on what looks better because it's subjective. It's just like speakers or headphones...ask 10 audiophiles and you get 10 answers as to which is best.

I'm not much of an eye candy type person, but I find windows 8 to look pretty drab and boring. But I also turned off transparency on Windows 7 because it annoyed me.

Sennheiser headphones are the BEST! Ok, I'm not an audiophile but I like them because I can plug them into my guitar amp, crank the volume, and they don't blow. :D

Well, at least you didn't say BOSE!!!. My headphone of choice is Grado. Although I do like AKG, Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser too.

I miss Aero feature, it's dull and boring in Win8.

Give me the speed and stability of the RTM, but with CP-style Aero, and I'd be perfectly happy.

The Start Screen isn't an issue, as, with Classic-Shell installed, I can use or avoid the Start Screen at will.

I find that I'm using BOTH, at present......:geek:

I personally have set, through third party, my window color white while I have a blue Taskbar and blue Start Screen. I find the white window coloring on the Desktop to be, like a crisp pleat on a new pair of dress pants.
