The download of the Enterprise RTM (64-bit, 90-day trial) is nearly complete.
I'll be trying it both as an upgrade and as a stand-alone install.
Liked the CP, had major issues with the RP.
I'll give the RTM a go, that's only fair.
But I'm primed to be disappointed.
I already know that I loathe the 'new look' of 8, and have already
worked around/ignored the Metro screen (thanks, Ivo...) and am
waiting with bated breath for a decent Aero skin..
The game-breaker, for me, is whether it will run openGL and/or
DX9 games.
If so, great.
If not, it won't be lasting long.
Back in the days of GEOS on the C64, I dreamed of an OS that would
do everything that I ever wanted, simply by a mouse-click ( I use
single-click, and really can't understand those who don't).
That OS was Windows 7 Ultimate. I've been running it since the beta, and
have never had a problem or issue with it.
SO FAR, Windows 8 doesn't come close. We shall see....
**A giggle-byte to go.....**
