I am a big fan of Windows 8, but after reading some negative comments on the forum and from some of the online journalists, I was wondering is it because I have had windows phone on my legendary HTC HD2 for some time, and even though I can duel boot into the latest version of android I tend to stick to WM7, so when I first tried win 8 it was a natural progression for me, so I thought a pole would be useful to find out if any win8 haters had a win7 phone.

I only know of 2 people personally who have a Windows phone.

I'm due for a phone upgrade at work and looked at my options today and I have a choice of
  • 8 iphones
  • 26 androids
  • 1 Windows phone. (HTC Trophy)

The poll needs another choice. I don't "Love" windows 8, but I don't "hate" it either. It's fine, but I'll be choosing to not use it.

Well, technically, when I started using Windows 8 a year ago with the Developer Preview, I did not have a Windows Phone 7 at the time. I was planning on what phone to get, at the time it was the HTC HD7, then Nokia came into the game and I ended up with a Lumia 900. Also, I was using the Zune software for a year before Windows 8, so the clean, flat metro design wasn't a pee my pants moment like some here are doing. ;)

And, technically, I already used a physical Windows Phone before hand and I also installed the SDK kit that has the emulator, that was what actually sold me on it was the emulator I had installed a year before Windows 8.

Pretty much, I've been exposed to metro design for about a year and a half more than some here. I know personally four people that have a Windows Phone, two of which got one because of me and my phone.

I'm using the original Samsung Focus with Tango on it right now, and am looking forward to a Nokia WP8 device. I chose to go with WP7 because I already use Microsoft's cloud services. It didn't make sense not to use a mobile platform that integrated those services. Because I've used this phone since it was released (I actually switched from VZW to ATT because of ATT's status as the "premiere" WP7 carrier), I found that the Windows 8 UI was an easy adjustment, and I use the start screen more or less as a launcher for my frequently used applications.
