Most likely won't. Windows 9+ = Most likely will. (Unless you're already x64)

Yeah, I'm getting in on the bandwagon early. By the time Windows 8 Alpha/EXTREME Beta leaks, I'll have a pretty high post count already.
Not that I'm here for post counts/rep

Hopefully the new OS will be backward compatible with older hardware, big mistake with Vista. Fixed in Win7.

SSDs and SATA3, USB3, will be the common standard by then.

Might have a minimum of quad core requirement

It might go the other way, small processor, small storage space.
    All cloud software and storage

I can't get my Windows 8 ISO to install on my machine,
it keeps saying something like "You've got to be kidding me" or something like that.

Can any of you experts help me, before I go off my trolley.

Excellent, wish it was that simple in real life to upgrade.

It better not, as I have none of those . And as for going the other way, the POINT???? If they do that, they'll be going into Chrome OS territory, And you know Google....... They're all about "Don't Be Evil", as long as you don't get in there way. Then they will CRUSH you. For example:
    • YouTube
    • Google
    • Google Maps
    • AdWords
    • Blogger
    • News
    • Google Public DNS
    • Gears
    • Android
    • GMail
    • Google Earth

And ChromeOS will probably dominate the Netbook market when it's released. So it's better if M$ stay with the market they already dominate.

The market they already dominate, OSX, Google Chrome, they can all try and some will succeed in getting their 1 or 2 % and that's it. They will probably never get their foot in the door for any more than that.

What exactly does "keep nothing" entail? [Windows 8 Upgrade]
Hello everyone. Tomorrow, I intend on purchasing the $40 Win8 upgrade for my Win7 machine. I like my installs as clean as possible, so can someone tell me if the "keep nothing" option formats the drive and installs Win8? If not, is there any way to do a clean install with the $40 upgrade? Thanks!
