Windows 8 is the home edition. Windows 8 Pro has more features. Windows 8 Enterprise is the same as pro, except that activation is handled by a key management server.

Windows 8 Enterprise is the same as pro, except that activation is handled by a key management server.
Or via a Multiple Activation Key (MAK). Usually with a KMS, you have to have at least 25 clients ready to go before you can activate your KMS server. For smaller companies, who still utilize enterprise agreements with MS with Software Assurance, but don't have 25 clients ready, often times the MAK key is the way to go.
