Yes, you can.
I'll wait for the $40 final release. In the mean time I downloaded a 90-day trial of Windows 8 Enterprise from the MSDN Evaluation Center via my Live account today. The cost is nill.

excellent advice by phoneman.
BTW I wouldn't even BOTHER with WMC - there's so many better ways of managing multi-media -- and for playing VLC will handle just about every codec on this planet (and if E.T ever wants any "Earthly Apps" VLC is probably one he would take -- and its FREE) and for Audio there are zillions. I like Winamp but monkey media etc etc are also good.
For Viideo and audio streaming -- there are also loads of apps out there -- I use the Logitech media server for streaming Audio, -- I tend not to bother with Video as I can access Video via my network with a PC and if I ant to play it on a large TV I just plug the small laptop to the TV via an HDMI cable.
The lack of WMC on some versions of W8 is not even a smidgen of an issue in my book anyway -- even TV apps you can use the TV company's "Iplayer" type of application - and you'll usually get a better choice than "Live TV".
