Battery icon not showing up in taskbar notification area.

actually i dont know in which category i should post this threat. so i posted it in general category.

i have installed Windows 8 on my notebook few days back. I didnt paid much attention in the starting but now it gives me trouble when my battery status is not being shown on the notification area on the taskbar. Is there any solution?

Yep, right click on the Taskbar, Properties, and you should see Notification area. Click on Customize... It brings up the Control Panel and you should see blue text saying Turn system icons on or off. Click that. You should see the battery icon and be able to change that to on.

this is it. :/ not able to change it.
it becomes editable when notebook is on charging.
when its fully charged, it becomes like that.

On laptops, a lot of internal hardware like the battery status is somewhat custom and needs a driver specifically for that laptop to be installed.

You can try looking on the manufacturers website for hardware drivers for that laptop and see if they have something. Usually the Windows 7 driver will work fine.

Sony is pretty good about putting all the drivers up for every laptop they sell for example...
