When I type 'regedit' in RUN, touch 'OK' & go into the 'Registry Editor' & select an item in the left column, nothing appears in the right column except, 'DEFAULT', etc. Any suggestions please!

    Touchscreen,
Download, install, run Resplendence's Registrar Registry Manager; tell us if that program does the same thing. Hoping to rule in or rule out regedit.exe being at fault, or, possibly both the regedit.exe and the explorer.exe are not communicating with each other. Concerning regedit.exe -- what happens to the left-side and right-side view while in Safe mode?

Thanks for answering RolandJS. Actually I somehow solved the problem & I don't quite know how. Weird things have been happening since I did a clean boot of W.8.1. & partitioned it with W.10. What I wanted to do in this instance was to change the friction necessary to scroll on a touch screen, which I did eventually succeed in doing.
