Solved Windows 8 upgrade

So which OEM key will work with the Windows 8 $39.99 that Microsoft is offering?
I bought a PC that came with a Vista OEM disk and label - doe's this qualify?

You would need to use the product key number that comes with the Windows 8 upgrade when you get it to activate Windows 8. You will not be able to use your Vista key number to activate Windows 8 with.

By having a PC with a licensed copy of XP, Vista, or Win7. OEM or retail.

I believe that anyone in the supported countries will be able to purchase the upgrade during the promotional period. If your PC doesn't qualify for the use of an upgrade license, you simply won't be able to activate it.

Ok, thanks for the info! One more question: I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit but would like to purchase Win 8 Pro 64 bit and do a clean install, is this possible?

We don't know if doing a clean install with a upgrade copy of Windows 8 will be possible for certain yet until it's out. You are able to with Vista and Windows 7, so there's a good chance that it may be possible with Windows 8 as well. You definitely can with a full retail copy of Windows 8 though.

Can't be sure, but didn't you just have to put a CD/DVD of the previous version in part-way through a clean installation and if you had the right one you were away......?????

For XP, yes. For Windows 7, no. The qualifying OS had to be installed.
