Installing older OS on Windows 8 machine

I'm having Windows 8 64 bit OS in my laptop. But for some works, I want to install an older OS (Windows 7 32 bit) on it and want to have the both OS. But I've read in microsoft website that older OS should be installed first (please refer to the warning note of the webpage Install more than one operating system (multiboot) - Windows Help). Otherwise, startup files of the recent OS can get corrupted. Is there any solution to it, i.e., can I have the older OS (windows 7 32 bit) installed on my computer without hampering the current OS (windows 8 64 bit)?

You could use virtualization software such as VMWarePlayer or VirtualBox to setup a VM (Virtual Machine) on your machine that would allow you to install and run Win 7 right from your Win 8 desktop. If you happen to have the Pro edition of Win 8 then you could use Hyper-V that comes with it to create a VM.
