Windows 8 made to look like win 7, tried to drag and drop an 80 gb folder and it disapeared. Just vanished. A search for the folder name turns up nothing.Tried to drag it from desktop to my documents. Any ideas?

They are likely in the "\server\volume\username\documents" location.
If not found , the documents may be stored in the hidden folder. If still not found , try to use some free version software like recuva ,easeus.

If the first two portable programs do not bring back that folder -- a third program to try, the portable version of MiniTool Power Data Recovery, free version.

Hi, you can try to use some 3rd party software to recover it, like minitool power data recovery. Because you do not know the specific problem of your lost data, you should use the most advanced recovery module to deep scan your drive.
