Need Help with Cooling Warning on Toshiba Satellite P55W

I have had this computer for i think almost a year, the message didn't pop up until we had installed Triad Wars, when we had installed it I had put it in a case to download the game. The next morning I got the computer out and it was extremly hot. I didn't have the message pop up until maybe around 2 or 3 days after we had downloaded the game. I had had this problem for a while now but it just pops up randomly.... because I would close out of it and it wouldn't come back for a while. Now the message won't stop popping up but at one random point it went I think a week or two without popping up when I had sat it on a desk. After I moved it, it started popping up again... Now it won't quit.. I had downloaded CPUID HWMonitor to monitor the temp. Sometimes the message pops up at 45%, 55%, and in the 60's and 70's.. Sometimes... The computer has went up to around 73% when I had Avast but when I got rid of Avast and got AVG my computer has randomly sometimes spiked to 82 to 83%... I do have a cooling pad on it but I don't think it is working.. I have checked inside of the computer but there is no dust.. We don't have the money to get it fixed and I need the computer to record Let's Play's and do my other work.

Btw the message is popping up while I had editing a video just sitting here listening to it, also I am just surfing through the internet on here, on Fb, and on my website....

Also the message seems to pop up a-lot when it is around 40 to 60 some degrees.....

The message is real annoying and I don't know how to fix it... I have tried everything....

You didn't really say, but I'm thinking that your PC is a laptop, right?

It should absolutely NEVER be set on any surface but a smooth, clean surface like a table top. Never on a lap, bed, carpet or any such surface.

Even so, the cooling fan and it's heat sink fins can get jammed up with normal household dust, etc.

Usually, cooling air is drawn in on the bottom of the laptop and exhausted either on the side or back.
Can you feel warm air coming out of the side or back vents?
If not you can try blowing compressed air in through the exhaust vents, to dislodge any dust.

Here is a picture of the cooling fan and heatsink is a laptop that no longer worked!


The computer had literally been thrown away. I'm not surprised!

A while back, I was given a beautiful HP Laptop, where the cooling fan had seized up tight. I fixed that one by gluing a 3", 12v fan to the bottom of the laptop, and connecting that fan to a 12v power supply. It now works beautifully as a Desktop PC, but is no longer portable.

So start your troubleshooting with the cooling fan and heatsink.

I guess I will have to try that....... I had tried cleaning it out but didn't see dust, which I don't have compressed air..... But it does have a cooling pad under it and plus it sounds like the fan works fine... Because i even did a test on my husband's computer and his computer when it was saving a video went to around 71 to 72% and his computer don't have the problem????? That's why I am kind of confused......

It sounds like the fan runs fine... The message seems to pop up when I go to DeviantArt, waiting on something to load on Tumblr or when I am saving/editing a video.... It gets annoying.... The temp is usually around 40 some to 50 some degrees and yes it is a laptop.... Plus I usually have it on the bed on the cooling pad standing up because I don't have anywhere else to put it and I want to be able to move it around like it should be able to do....

Btw, I think I have noticed that sometimes the fan comes on for no reason? What can I do about that?
Plus when I click into CPUID Monitor sometimes the fan will go off?
