Missing Start Menu Icons

As you can see my icons are missing from the metro start. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Hello Jame,

You might see if running a sfc /scannow command may be able to help if it's just a corrupted or modified system file at fault. :)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

If this has just recently happened, then you may be able to also do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully undo it.

The text on your start screen tiles looks really small compared to mine. Font problem maybe? Have you done any customization mods to Windows 8 recently?

I think that has more to do with the size of my screen, dual screen 2560x1024

Two 19 inch 1280x1024 LCD's here for a total of 2560x1024. Metro only ever displays on one screen though.

We have the same setup. You need eyefinity to make it one screen

So I finally found out how to fix this error. What happens is a system font 'Segoe UI Symbol' gets corrupt for what ever reason, you just have to reinstall it. I have attached it for anyone who needs it.
