Hi, I am trying to copy from windows 8.1 music folder to a usb to use in my car. I had vista before 8.1 and could simply copy straight over. With 8.1 windows media will play one track then stop and I have to return to library to chose another track. In Vista it would simply move to the next track and start playing. When I copy from the Music folder to the usb I have found that tracks I have copied from different folders remain in the folders and I have to choose folders to get the tracks.
I am fairly new to all this so I hope someone can help as I have looked everywhere on the web for help.
Thanks in advance

are talking about the way your car selects tracks when you plug in the usb to your car?

No, the problem seems to be in the copying from music file onto the usb the copy process puts the track in the folder which is the album that I have ripped. The problem is that I don't want the track attached to the album.
When I play a track by clicking on my pc Music folder/album/songtrack the song plays in Windows media - once. It used to go on to the next track. When I play in wmplayer, it plays the track then goes off to a seemingly random track and plays that, not the next track. So I am wondering if there is a problem with wmplayer itself. As I said I used to do it in Vista no worries

Do I need to do a playlist then somehow play that? But then if I do want to play the entire cd, don't seem to be able to do that either. Strange

Have you used Teamviewer?

http://download.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewerPortable.zip

it should give you a id number and password..

I could show you how to use Windows Media Player.. that's what you want right?

I need to see what it's doing.. If I understand you, you don't like how you put a folder or song into Windows Media Player and then you play the song, but it jumps randomly to another folder or song not of the songs you put in Media Player?

Hopefully, brooksndun's post above solved your issue with WMP. As far as copying a track from your computer to your USB, that works exactly like it did in Vista. You simply need to locate that track in File Explorer, click and hold with the left mouse button, then drag it to the USB and drop it there.
