Alt Code Assistance

Hello,

On every version of Windows I have used (apart from 8,) Alt+789 (numpad) produces a symbol resembling two S's stacked on one another.

On Windows 8 with Num Lock ON, this remains the case.

I need to know what this Alt Code produces, on Windows 8, with Num Lock OFF.

It is my Windows password and due to a recent upgrade the method I was using no longer produces the correct character.

TLDR; Will someone running Windows 8 turn their Num Lock OFF, and post the result of Alt+789 (on the number pad) in a reply for me?

Thanks,

Sam

It may be different on YOUR laptop but on mine, ALT+789 with Num lock OFF doesn't produce anything, the 7 key is HOME, the 8 key is Cursor UP and the 9 Key is PGUP. It depends on what application you are entering those key combos in. For instance, in my FireFox browser where I am now, ALT+HOME goes to my browser's Home page.

Retired in 2015 after working in the tech industry for 41 years. First 10 years as a Technician, the rest as a programmer/software engineer. After 1 year of retirement, I was bored so went back to work as a Robotic Process Automation Consultant. Retired for 3rd (and final) time in 2019.
I have learned that the character it used to produce is called "Combining Comma Above Right" or ̕

̕ ̕ ̕
However I seem to be unable to produce this character, which is my password, in the new password input field for Windows 10
My question-- The question that I didn't know what the command produced-- is solved.

I guess my issue is now a Windows 10 issue. Thank you, though.
