Photo streamed from PC is not full screen on TV

Size of a photo streamed from pc is 1/4 of a 4K TV screen. I am using Windows Explorer and point the TV to render the photo. The TV and the PC is wire-connected to a router. There is no such problem when streaming videos.
Attached as follow are two picture that show how the photos are displayed on the TV. The first one is from source image having resolution of 1600 x 1200 and the second one is 7360 x 4912. It appears that the displayed size has nothing to do with the resolutions.
How can the photo be displayed full screen?

The TV is displaying the pictures in their original resolutions. There is nothing wrong with how they are showing. BTW, that is not 1/4 of the screen. You may want to change your heading.

Suggest that you check the manual for that tv to see if there is any way to allow pictures over the network to be displayed for full screen.

Videos are always going to display at the TV resolution. There is nothing wrong with your computer. There is nothing wrong with your tv.

The TV is displaying the pictures in their original resolutions.
This is something I wondered about: The above means the image resolution must be 3840 x 2160 for full screen display on the TV. But this does not seems to agree with what are seen on the TV.

If the source image's aspect ratio is not the same as the TV, then at least one side can and should be full screen.

It is not the TV resolution, is is how it renders it from the file. The Spec's should say what the resolutions and pixel sizes that it can handle.

If you use something like Gimp to increase the size of the pictures. You can end up losing details, because the software would turn so many Pixels Black, in place of color, to expand it to cover the screen.

It is always best to find the highest resolution pictures that you can.

I use the Amazon Fire TV for watching streaming. If I am watching Amazon, I can set to use their pictures. If I set to our Amazon Photos Cloud storage, then I end up without a bunch like you did.

Try using Flickr for photos and see what happens. Do a search for "4k/UHD". I found a bunch on there.

My present endeavor is to see if I can stream photos from my PC direct to TV not from cloud, or not using any add-on hardware as Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, etc. There is no problem at all playing videos but not displaying still image. This may be because TV is not really intended for still image so that vendors are not so care about.

I think I have to start looking for the add-on hardware. Any recommendation is appreciated.

Get a 4k/UHD video card if you do not have one. But remember the above if you change resolution.

Run the 4k Flickr photos and post back if that works.

I am using AMD R7 360 on my pc which is 4K compatible. Besides how does my present problem have anything to do with the video card? I thought video processing is done by the TV.

The processing is done by both. You have to make sure that Catalyst Control Center is loaded. Which is not going to be around much longer, since the "Radeon Software Crimson" is taking its place.

CCC has some really bad limitations with the 4k/UHD resolution. You should be able to go to the Display properties and choose the highest resolution that the video card allows for the tv.

Also make sure that in CCC, that Overdrive is turned off. On the TV, you may have to make some changes to various default settings. Check avsforum.com for your model and see if there is a tweak set for it. If you have not calibrated it yet for basic and the advanced settings, without getting into the Service Menu, that may also fix it.

The problem with pictures is the Software that you are using to stream to the TV, since a lot of it is not made for the newer 4k/UHD sets. Especially the app's for 8 & 10.

Sorry for this late reply. Just back from trip to attend emergency.

The problem symptom is the same when the image is streamed from a 8 years old notebook with Intel T7200 CPU and 950 graphic. which appears to indicate the hardwares at the transmitting end has nothing to do with the problem.

The suggested software is to be run on the PC so that my present problem cannot be resolved by using this software. Correct me if wrong.

Yes, because it is not an issue with the tv when it has pictures shown. It is the size of the photo.

Did you get a chance to download a few 4k resolution pictures and try those?

What you are saying is contradictory to what are shown on the pictures previously posted.: Their resolution are vastly different or 1200p and 4912p, yet the displayed sizes are the same. The width is different because their aspect ratio is not the same.

Again as I stated it has nothing to do with the resolution of the tv or what the Video card is set to output. It is because the photos are being shown in the Native resolution that they were taken at on a camera.

In order to make them work in 4k mode. You will have to use the software I mentioned before.

If the photo of 4912p resolution is displayed in the native resolution on the 2160p screen, doesn't part of the image go out of the screen?

It depends on what you have the software that controls the output on the display set up for.

It takes more then just hooking up a monitor. With HDTV's, you have to adjust the control software, so that anything you output on it, is going to show up as you want it.

The pictures being in a different resolution, will always display in their native format, unless you use a software made for slideshows, or adjust the photo resolution.

My conclusion as to the cause of my problem is as follows:
1. It has nothing to do with resolution of the source image nor the TV screen.
2. It has nothing to do with the software involved at the DLNA server: The software funcions merely to send out the image information and has no control over how the image is displayed on the TV screen.
3. The TV has the complete control over how the image is rendered on its screen.
I do not know if there exists any TV with 4K screen that displays DLNA streamed images as I wish. Sharp and Sony TVs with 1080p I used to use allowed adjusting display size and aspect ratio of the images on the TV screen.
