Windows 8 Boot problem

My computer is a HP pavilion windows 8 and won't boot.

Recently i turned it off and then back on, and it came up with "Checking for hard drive disk errors, may take up to an hour". After 10 min, it finished, and came up with the "Autorepairing problems" thing.

I then went into advanced settings, used cmd to open the log file, and it says on the logs "Root problem: Registry is currupt".

I wanna know how I can fix the registry via command prompt? Safe mode also does not work.

It's exactly the same principle - suggest download the Paragon Rescue disk and use the wizards to copy the regback file. It won't do anything other than restore a backed up registry.

Could you post a step by step for me? I've never done this before. When I download paragon, how do I run it, since the computer doesn't boot? Or do I use the USB functions, by downloading the program on a USB?

Sorry had router problems - need to re-download... see how far you get with creating a USB in the meantime.

Any luck? I note it's not that straight-forward creating the USB.

After selecting Recoverty Media builder - you select Advanced mode - complete the registration, then select PE option, then your USB drive, next skip all network stuff. Takes a while to create ( but more intuitive than the Linux version)
