Format Factory changed my icons and I can't fix it

I downloaded Format Factory because I needed a video in a Microsoft Video 1 ("AVC (H264)") file and no other program I had could do it

After I downloaded it, it changed my icons for things like .rar, .png, .jpg, and .tga files. Instead of the usual default .png icon I got an ugly looking folder thing. I made sure that I could still run them on my default programs. But the icons were still what Format Factory changed them it. So I uninstalled it thinking it would fix it, but it didn't.

I tried setting them to my default programs (even though they were already set to them), but it didn't change them at all. I also tried changing them to different programs (like changing .png files to be opened with notepad) and the icons did change, but when I switch them back they're still the Format Factory icons.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my default programs and that didn't work. My anti-virus Webroot didn't find anything so I don't know if this is just a file somewhere or a virus it doesn't know. I looked through every file on my computer and I didn't find anything. I downloaded a random picture in .png format and the icon is still from Format Factory.

I'm really out of ideas at this point. I don't want to reset my laptop, but I really want this fixed. I don't have a restore point either (because I'm an idiot) And I don't have the money to pay someone to fix it right now, nor will I have it for awhile. So does anyone have any ideas or know how to fix it?

Hi are you sure that Format Factory has completely gone from your system, when you uninstalled it did you do a restart, and have you tried CCleaner to get rid of any dead links also it has an uninstaller in there that way find it.
Also have you tried Revo Uninstaller Pro that is good one comes with a 30 day free trial

One guaranteed solution, though, is to system restore back to before installing that program.

Also, there's this really compact and simple media player that I use that will play hvec videos.. and practically any video type.
Check it out at: mpc-hc.org
It's called Media Player Classic. I use it to play every single video type that I have.
