Some do some don't, your best chance is to log on to HP tech support for your computer, there you will be notified which drivers will need to upgraded before upgrading an which ones after the upgrade. That will give you the best chance for a successful upgrade.

To see what issues you might be present with the Window 10 Forum will be quite helpful

If your PC is 100% Windows 8.1 compatible it shouldn't be a problem. If not, dig deep before upgrading.
I just upgraded (last week) my daughter's Win 8.1 HP laptop and no problems at all.

HP only provides information on PCs they built in 2013 or later. Anything older than that is not covered and, they are not providing updated drivers for those older PCs as well,

I got a new HP Slimline 450-a24 and upgrading to Windows 10 is awful. I turn off Microsoft Edge only IE 11. I can see Verizon home page but not my email page. I enable compatibility viewer setting and check my email but, the home page is readable. If I'm lucky I get "Oops the page you're look for isn't here". The Edge give a blank page, IE 11 give a Verizon header, log-in button, etc.,, etc. I am staying with Windows 8.1. Windows 10 drivers at HP support in August are different in September.

Redscarlett use Firefox or Chrome. If compatibility in IE is not fixing the issue, that is because of issues that are outstanding. When you do an upgrade from within Windows 8.1. You need to tell it to not keep previous apps and settings.

Thanks for the idea broe23 but, I've did personal files only too. Same results. Change to Firefox will be a last resort. I'm thinking that its Verizon doing. Have you heard that they sold to Fonterra Communication, how many changes to there web site to be, is unknown. I got only one card left, clean install and the August HP drivers. Which aren't available.

Doubtful, because my in-laws have Frontier in Oregon, IL. No issues on their DSL connection. A lot of times it can be just third party Internet Security software, that rolled from one OS to the updated one.

I always do a clean install on upgrades. The Dell, I had to load Vista, then update. 7 then update. 8 then update to 8.1. Then I could install 10. It took two and a half days of doing that install. I was using the box as a test unit when I got it from my in-laws. I have had no issues on it.

Do the reset on Internet Options in the Control Panel, make sure the Windows Firewall is shut down. Run the following Farbar tools: MiniToolBox, FRST and Service Scanner. Publisher page for Farbar That may fix it. Just make sure that you have any Internet Security Software disabled before running the tools. Last would be to reset the security software if running.
