Maintenance and Schedule Tasks Broken

I recently rolled my system back to Windows 8.1 (from 10). When I try to run system maintenance, I receive:"Windows is unable to start maintenance. The maintenance scheduler is unavailable."Following the corrective steps on MS's site, I tried to open Task Scheduler and see:
"MMC has detected an error in a snap-in and will unload it"...

The system at this point freezes.
I also occasionally see:
"Task Adobe Acrobat Update Task - The task XML contains a value which is incorrectly formatted or out of range."

Running the Troubleshooter obviously doesn't help.

I'd really appreciate any help on this.

Did you try sfc /scannow & the DISM repair? Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Run sfc /Scannow first, then Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth reboot and then run sfc /scannow after logging back in. You need to run both of these commands as an Administrator in cmd (Windows Key + "X").

I was having so many additional problems, e.g. Windows Update stop working, I just decided to restore a system image backup of 8.1.

Again, did you try the two procedures I posted? Going on about it not working, does not solve the issue.
