.mht and .mhtml file association issue

I have an odd problem. I can open .mht and .mhtml files with no problem. I have them associated with Chrome. However, if I add a .mht file to Onenote 2013 by dragging it, then right-clicking on it and tell Onenote to open the original version, it prompts me saying I have to go to the Windows Store to find a viewer. It advised that it was looking for an associate for mhtml. I renamed an mht file to .mhtml and associated it with Chrome. If I D-Click the file it opens as it should. Here's the kicker, if I D-Click the file in Onenote (opening the file that actually embedded in ON) it opens as it should. Only when I try to open the file it was copied from does it throw an error. Weird. Any ideas?

Print it to a pdf, then pull it into word and copy out what you want to Onenote.

The sad thing is that Microsoft only wants office to work with only their software.

I'm not sure whathappened. This question was meant to be a reply to http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/8486-default-file-associations-restore-windows-8-a-24.html,since I was having the exact same symptoms as the OP of that thread. I guessBrink moved it?

Regardless, yourreply does not address the problem at all. I am very well versed in how to moveand manipulate data between products. I'm trying to set-up a workflow thatrequires the use of being able to open the ORIGINAL file. This wouldn't havebeen nearly as much of an issue had Microsoft felt it should remove a usefulfunction between OneNote 2010 and 2013 (add link when dragging a file to apage).
