Brightness re-adjusts on its own

Hi,

This is my first time posting here, so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong forum. I didn't see a "Display" forum, so I thought I'd start here.

I am running Windows 8.1 and my brightness setting keeps readjusting. I'll fix it using my function keys (Function + F6), through the Charms bar, through the power options, even through the graphics card. I'll bring up the brightness because I like it bright and sometimes it will stay like that for 30 minutes, 10 min, 5 min, 1 min or sometimes after 5 seconds switch back to the lowest brightness level. Sometimes I'll try adjusting it and while I'm turning it up it will jump back down to the lowest level again and again. What can you suggest? I'm quite frustrated...

Thanks

Ewepp

Click on Battery Icon on taskbar and then More Power Options. Click Change Plan Settings alongside the plan you have selected. Click on Change Advanced Power Settings and then double-click on Display. Double-click Enable Adaptive Brightness and select OFF.

Edit: Above assumes you are using a laptop. If a desktop, go to Control Panel, Power Options and then pick up above.

Works... but then...

It fixed it-- for a day. Now Adaptive Brightness is off, all the settings are at 100 and it still wont stay bright.
