Can't take ownership of files created in Windows XP Pro

I have built some media files (photos, songs, videos) on a separate 1.5TB internal drive formatted in NTFS. Some were built using Windows XP Pro. I then added a SSD and installed Windows 8.1 Pro on the same machine and added some more files to the media drive using Win 8.1. I waited awhile until I built a media center and then tried to modify some of my files on the media drive and find:

    With Security tab I get:

When I click Advanced I get:

    Iíve tried takeown and get:

HELP!!!! Iíve been working on this for days and Iím at a lost on what to do to gain access. Iíve read and tried the tutorials in this forum and others but to no avail.
